Sorghum is one of the main coarse cereal crops of India. India is the second largest producer of sorghum in the world. The yield of 840kg per hectare is the lowest amongst the major sorghum producing countries in the world. This crop is ideally suited for semi- arid agroclimatic regions of the Country. Thresh the earheads either manually or mechanically at a moisture content of 15 – 18 %.
Yield:
150 – 200 quintal of green fodder per acre for single cut type to 280 – 320 quintal per acre for multi cut cultivar.
